Regarding Cognos Configuration ( Content Manager )

Hello all,

Can i have the Database server and the Cognos, both, installed on the same machine?? If so, will i have to explicitely give the IP address of the same machine in Content Manager Configuration??

Hi,

Yes - you can have your database and Cognos 8 installed on the same machine.  You could use the IP address of the server if you wish, or 'localhost', or the physical server name.  If I was setting up the configuration, I would prefer to use the server name.
