Composite Studio 4.5.0 Configuration Values

Has anyone tinkered with some of the values found under Administration?
If I have two servers, I would like to be able to share the meta data and security without actually exporting the .car files from one server and then importing it into another server; since only one server is up at any given time.

Ideally, I would like to share the values for
Security
Configuration data
Repository Database

Basically preventing a single point of failure in the event that the main server goes down.  Has anyone been successful in doing this task?
