Re-set Event List on Failure

Is there a way event list can be re-set if the event fails after executing a couple of tasks due to DB connection errors? Or is there any other approach to get the event to re-start with minimal manual intervention as in the above case admin has to re-set the event list and trigger it manually on failures.
