word break in column title

Is there a simple way to force desired word breaks in the column titles of a list, something like an embedded "\n"? I want to keep the dynamic sizing based on data-width, column-width, and window-size, but I want the column-title to stay fixed-width and centered.

Try setting the item property under White Space to "No Wrap".  The centering can be done under the item properties as well or select the item on the page layout and click the button in the format menu.
