Need Help

I need to understand the concept of re-usable components in report net.

Can anyone help me with that with two such examples so that it could be easy to understand

Hi,

Here's an example of a reusable object (layout component reference).  You have a report that has a prompt page, a cover page and a main report page.  You have spent time on the report page customising the page header, and you now want to use the same header on your cover page and prompt page without having to go through the same work again.

On the report page, select the block in the page header and in it's ID property, invent a name for it.
On the cover page, delete the current page heading contents and drag in a layout component reference into the page heading.  Select the ID name of the page heading from the report page, and the same heading appears on your cover page without you having to re-define it.  Do the same on your prompt page too.

Regards,

MF.
