passing value to string variable

I am trying to pass values to parameters in cognos using SDK Java. I have 5 dimensions which are prompts and 3 measures which are prompts just for the conditional blocks that I have created. The user wanted the ability to run any of the 3 measures against his selection in the first prompt for the dimensions. SDK is picking up all the 5 dimensions but is skipping the second prompt which is the conditional block for the 3 measures. I created the 2 nd prompt using a string variables.
