AS and performance in C8

When openning a cube with Analysis Studio in a Cognos 8 installation it almost paralize the server.It takes 100% of CPU. Then, the navigation within the cube is very slow....

This is a Win 2003 Server Standard Edition. 2G RAM
and MS SQL Server 2000 installed apart from Cognos 8 suite, this is, all-in-one server. The SQL Server database size is 1G and the cube size is 400M

Which items should I check in order to improve Analysis Services performance? It seems to me (and to the users too..) that it performs slower than previous Power Play Web aplication.

By now I got 4 cubes already incorported but I'm in the middle of a BI project and I'm afraid this performace issue becomes a problem as new cubes are being created...

Hi,

The utility is pcoptimizer.exe, but it is only valid for Cognos PowerCubes, not for MSAS cubes.

The latest Cognos 8.2 release has some big improvements in performance over 8.1, especially in Analysis Studio.  You may want to take a look at this to see if it helps.
