PP Studio 8.4
« on: 11 Jun 2009 09:54:54 pm »
Can anybody tell me what would be the advantage of usiing PowerPlay Studio in Cognos 8.4 when we already have analysis studio which can be used to build reports against cube datasources.

Thanks,
Vick.

This products rocks, no retraining, Ditch analysis studio..This is exactly like pp7 web..

Its easy to supress zeros (unlike analysis studio)

You can add many more dimensions than analysis studio

Hi,

The main advantage to using PowerPlay Studio over Analysis Studio is user familiarity - it offers the good old PowerPlay Web interface to users who know and love it and don't want anything else.

It has some disadvantages though - it can only access Powercube packages, and does not support more advanced analysis features you find in Analysis Studio such as stacking dimensions or pinning context.  It is not available to buy for new customers either - only as an upgrade to users who already have PowerPlay 7.
