Need info on Cognos 8 BI v8.4 Upgrade/Migrate

Hi Friends,

Currently we have two models which were developed in Cognos 8 BI v8.3.. One consists of a very big dashboard report and the other consisits of adhoc reports. Now we are about to upgrade/Migrate to v8.4.

Please provide me some info on the following points.

1) Limitations of Cognos 8 BI Framework Manager v8.4
2) 8.4 Features which are not available in v8.3
3) Any Performance increasing ways.
4) Valuable /Advanced added features in v8.4 Dashboard which are not in v8.3
5) Upgrade issues
6) Data level security

Please let me know ASAP.

Hi

Few months back we migrated 8.3 to 8.4 and again last week 8.4 to 8.4.1

For reports and FM Models there are no much huddles!! You can migrate them safely.

Coming to 8.4.1, Yes the server stability is good but make sure while configuring the dispather settings.
This is very importent for performance.

Migration from 8.3 to 8.4 has no issues or concerns...

We migrated them successfully with no issues.....
