Filter on Transformer Model
« on: 19 Apr 2010 07:52:07 am »
I have a report running on PowerCube, It is taking long time to run the report, so I want to reduce the data in cube and I want to put a filter on cube Can I do that in Transformer model, give your suggestions on this and If possible give your thoughts on Cube optimization to run the report fast.

Thanks!

Hi,

More information is needed - sorry.  How is the report written against the cube - ie does it use detail/summary query filters?  Which studio/client has been used to write the report?  How many queries?

Hi,

Sounds to me like you are using relational reporting techniques, which will often give poor performance against a cube.

Can you outline what the report needs to do - if so we may be able to suggest the appropriate dimensional expressions to use, and be able to do it all in one query.

Regards,

MF.
