Unable to Open Cognos browser using URL http://localhost/cognos8?

Hi,

Unable to Open Cognos browser using URL http://localhost/cognos8.
I am able to start the Services in cognos configuration.
I navigated to IIS services from Control Panal and Browsed IIS service I am able to see the ISS window but when I Browse the Cognos-8 folder unable to launch the bowser can any one help opn this please?

have you setup the web gateway for cognos in IIS? What error do you get?

I am not getting any error.I have configured the web gateway i.e. creating of Cognos-8 folder and mapping it to webcontent and given read permissions.Then Similarly mapped to CGI-BIN and given Read and Execute permissions.
When I am tring to Browse then Cognos-8 folder I am getting "Page cannot be displayed"

Shouldn't cause you any probs as long as your machine has enough resource available. I run the exact same on my own laptop and have several instances of Cognos up and running.

What do you see on screen when you attempt to access the page, anything?
What OS are you using?

sorry just re-read your earlier post about the message being displayed(bangs head on desk!!!!!!) I'd still be interested in knowing the OS your using and version of IIS

If you are using ISAPI, try your URL as:

http://localhost/cognos8/cgi-bin/cognosisapi.dll

Within IIS check the web service extensions to ensure that you are allowing all ISAPI extensions. This has caught me out before

I have stopped apache service and restarted it managed to overcome the Tomcat error.
But when I am tring to open the cognos configuration service I am getting the same "page cannot be displayed" .can some one help me to sort out this problem......?

able to launch Cognos connection for few millisecs and then disapears and getting page cannot be displayed error.Can any one help on this??
