Cognos Analytics for Microsoft Excel issues

I am using Cognos 10 and wanted to give CAFmE a try. I loaded the software, but have two issues with using it:

1. It doesn't show up in Excel 2010 and I can't figure out how to make it show up there.

2. In Excel 2003, I can only read PowerPlay reports, I can't open cubes.

Has the functional change for Cognos 10 been drastic, or am I missing something?

This happens all the time.

Ensure that BEFORE you install CAFE, that you run the MS KB Patch that came with it.

So your steps...

1. Uninstall CAFE
2. Run the MS KB Patch.
3. Re-install CAFE

I believe the MS KB Patch is in the "<Extracted_folder>/go_office folder. The KB Patch folder is KB908002. Run all three executables in this folder.
