Cognos Impromptu

Hi friends,
 I am new to cognos, i need help on cognos impromptu.
 There is set of .cat and .imr files, here i need to prepare documents in Excel regarding
what tables used and its more like a tdd preparation.
could you help me how to prepare this.

Hi. The .cat file is your Impromptu Catalog - essentially the metadata which describes the data source and the reporting objects available when authoring reports. Each .imr is a separate Impromptu Report, which is linked to the catalog.

You can open the catalog in Impromptu and browse the tables and the folders to see how it is defined. You can then open each report to see what it does.
