Saved Groupings
« on: 05 Feb 2013 11:43:28 am »
In Meta Manager I can find a group of reports using the Report Search,
I would then like to take this group which may be spread across multiple folders into Find/Replace and or Report Validator to work with but I have not found a way to do this.

Scenerio:
I have 50 Reports acrossed 15 different folders using 2 different Transformer Cube sources
I am planning on changing a Measure name within one of the cubes.

I build a Report search that gives me the exact list I am looking for of 20 reports that need to be changed.
I want to now go into Find / Replace and update these 20 reports, I would also like to use the Validator to verify they run correctly before and after the change.

Right now the only way I can do this is to manually add each report into each 'tool'

As an Enhancement request I would to be able to build a list of reports and then use that list in other tools within MetaManager.
If there is a way to do this today I would love to find out how.

There is a way to perform the task you described in MetaManager. If you go to Report Search you can right-click on the reports in the grid and choose "Save as favorite". By doing that you will be able to access that list in the other modules. So having that list saved as a favorite will eliminate your need to manually add each report. There are plenty of training videos that show helpful tips like this at www.bspsoftware.com and if you ever have questions like this you can always contact support@bspsoftware.com.

Thanks that worked perfectly.

If I only submit trouble tickets we won't build a repository of information other users can browse, which is what I thought the Forums were for :)
