Crosstab and list report not working in sync with slider

All,

I have a crosstab report and a list report both using the same cube source.  I have the column Month in both the crosstab and list but when I set the listen to property for my slider the Month column is listed twice one as "Month" for the list report and one as "Month, Jan2010,..." for my crosstab which does not allow me to link the slider control to both portlets.  I tried messing with the month properties for the crosstab month column but it did not help.  Any ideas on how I can get this to work with the cross tab.  I also tested this using a relational source instead of a cube again with the combination of crosstab and list and had the same result  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
