Regarding Dashboards

Hi,
I am having Cognos 8 BI , A trial software running in Vmware,I am having report studio,event studio, Analysis studio and query studio but not having a Studio for dashboard.
So I want to know whether Dashboard is installed and not showing in cognos connection home page or Do I need to install cognos Dashboard seperately

Go! Dashboard is an entirely separate install to the rest of Cognos 8.  It allows flash-enabled drag-and-drop dashboard creation.  However, you can also build reports in Report Studio that take the form of a dashboard, and/or you can define portal pages in Cognos Connection that are dashboards.  It all really depends on how you define a dashboard, but more importantly, what issues you are trying to solve and what functionality you require.

Thank you very much for your reply, I just wnted to know whether DAshboard needs to be installed separately or comes with Cognos 8 BI and I got the answer from your reply, From next month our project is coming and we are starting with cognos express, So any guidance u can give before starting the project.
 Actually I am a trainee in my organisation and the coming project is my first project.
 So any guidance from you is appreciated.

Ah - you are using Cognos Express.  In that case, I'd check with your IBM Account Manager whether GO! Dashboard will work with Cognos Express.  It normally installs alongside the full-fat Cognos 8 BI, and express is a cut-down version of this (with some TM1 added goodness) for the mid-market.
