Controller Configuration
« on: 04 Jan 2017 11:28:04 am »
Hi everyone!

I have a customer that uses Controller but the only have the production environment.

Now we are configurating a development environment, but we are facing some problem to configure database to this new installation of Cognos Controller.

We did a copy of database from production to the SQL of development. After that we did the link on Controller Configuration of this new database.

But the problem happens when we try to use the Controller of this new server. When we log, the two databases that appears for me are the same of the production environment, even after I have deleted them.

Did anyone knows what should be done to read this new database?

Thank you!

JR

You can doublecheck where your .udl file points to.
Open it by doubleclick it on ccr_64\data\name.udl

Controller simply connects to the database via this udl file.
If you copied the database from prod to dev, then of course the content will be 100% equal.
Unless you wanted to start with an empty system?

Hello.

There is a udl file named Controller, which is the connection that I want.

But after that when I try to log on Controller, the database "controller" does not appear. It appears only the databases that I use on production environment. This is the problem.

I understand that two databases are equal, but I did a test. I create a new account on development environment and this same account appears on production, so the configuration of databases are not correct.

Did you got it?

Find attached file with images.

Thank you.

Could be that your controller client configuration is pointing to another environment.
Doublecheck %appdata%\Cognos\ccr\ccr.config

Hi,

I only have the folder ccr64 on server and after I am on this folder there is no file ccr.config.

Sorry, but do you have any other suggestions about this problem?

Thanks a lot.

I was referring to the client location.
Type %appdata% in your windows explorer, then browse from there.
