IBM Cognos Transformer Locale Issue
« on: 15 Jun 2020 02:09:54 am »
Hello There,

So far Czech, Polish and Chinese(TW) guys have been building their own cubes by having their own server locales (Czech, Polish and Chinese(TW) in 3 different servers and They have their own Cognos BI where they have been publishing.

Now I have moved all of their content to 1 CA11.1.4 environment (Shared platform for all 3 regions).

I have a server with Cognos Analytics 11.1.4 installed. I have also installed IBM Cognos Tranformer on the same server. The current system locale of the server is English-Us.

If I build cube for Czech, Polish and Chinese in new CA11.1.4 server with system locale as us-en, all the Czech, Polish and Chinese characters are showing as "????".

I have reached out to IBM, they are suggesting to change the system locale to Czech in-order to see Czech characters in the cognos Q/A/R/P_Play Studios. Same for the rest of the languages (Chines and Polish).
IBM refers this tech note; https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEP7J_11.1.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.ug.cogtr.doc/c_managelanguagelocale.html

Now i have following possiblities:
1. I have to set system locale to Polish, restart server and then build Polish cube and then change system locale to Czech, restart server and build Czech cube and then change the system locale to Chinese, restart server and then build Chinese cube
OR
2. Have 3 servers with different locales Polish, Czech and Chinese with Transformers installed.

I want to know if any one has any solution where i can just have some model/pyj properties changed to make it work having server locale to en-us only. I can not change system locales 3 times a day to bulid cubes. I can look for 2nd option only in worst case.

Any help will be appreciated !!

Thank You,
mfg
