Upgrading Cognos Express to Planning Analytics Security

Hopefully someone can advise on the following

We are looking at upgrading Cognos Express 10.2.1 to Planning analytics

Have a specific question around the Security

I have installed Cognos Analytics and Planning analytics on New Server and want to move the CXMD to this server from our old Express install, we used the built in security on Express but my question is how do I replacate that on CA / PA install so I can access Architect

Hi,

There isn't an easy way to recreate the users from the inbuilt Express Store if you were using the inbuilt security in Express rather than Active Directory authentication. I'm guessing it will be a manual process to set the security up again in your new CA install. I'm wondering if you might save some time and effort if you look at a third-party tool like BSP's Security Migrator? What I'm uncertain of is whether it works with the inbuilt Express authentication provider. I'm sure one of the BSP guys will be along shortly and can offer advice.

Darners - I'm not super familiar with Cognos Express, but I've done some digging around, and I think we might be able to help solve this issue moving to Cognos Analytics, using our Security Migrator tool, to help replicate access/security/capabilities as you move from one existing env into another.
