New menu in Cognos Connection

Hi,
I want to customize the menu of cognos connection 8.4. I mean that I want to generate my own menu to access e.g. the different tools. I don't want to use the pull down menu from cognos.

Instead of to use this menu I would prefer the menu from cognos like it was used in the older Versions. It was a simple horizontal menu.

Do anybody know, if it is possible to edit an to generate a complete new horizontal menu (with html and css)?
