Title: Many Cognos connection sessions in the database
Post by: cogadmin on 05 Aug 2010 07:55:22 AM
When our sql server dba checks his database, he found out there are many Cognos sessions in the database that are more than 10 days old. Anybody knows the reason? The contractor setup the Cognos env and he is no longer available. Is it related to the Cognos configuration? In general, when you close the Cognos connection (IE url), data source connection to the database should be disconnected. Why there are many Cognos session left in the sql server database for so many days?

Thanks,

When you start Cognos service, you have about 18 - 20 database connections in the sql server database. If they are 'JSQLConnect', they are Cognos content store connections.
