Title: Unable to Run reports in Unix environment ( Solaris 8)
Post by: Sam77 on 24 Feb 2006 10:00:30 AM
Hi

I have installed and Configured Cognos 8 in Unix Enviornment(Solaris 8).

I imported couple of packeges and corresponding reports from the Reportnet 1.1 ( MR2) environment( which was on windows-2003).

After upgrading the packages and reports--I went into Tools--Directories---Data Sources and tried testing the connection.

All of my imported Connections are failing with the Following error message

DPR-ERR-2056--The Report Server is not responding.

Hi

Thanks for the information.

Well we do not have the following patched installed and we are working on getting them installed on the machine.
However I was wondering if there could be any other issue besides this patches which could be the Root cause for this issue.

If you look at your BIBus processes running on the server you should see 1 of them disappears during the time the report is running.  Then you encounter the error in Cognos Connection.  This problem has been affecting my environment for some time now.  Cognos knows it is a problem and hopefully is in the process of fixing it.  The answer I get from them is that some of the function such as some Date functions require more memory to execute.  Cognos said they are in the process to fix this.

PS.  I also get a  2077  error

Let me know if this has helped you and I will let you know when the hot fix is available.
