Title: Cognos Configuration Manager - Linux
Post by: cpasquini on 29 Oct 2010 01:53:41 PM
Is it possible to access the Cognos Configuration Manager GUI using Linux?  I support a Cog environment that is hosted on Linux blades and all configuration changes (such as specifying the constor1, DB connections etc) are done by hand-editing the cogstartup.xml file - that is a royal pain.

I see that the Windows folks have access to a GUI (and 99% of the IBM docs use that GUI in their examples), so I was wondering if there is an equivalent for Linux.

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Well I figured out how to do this using x-win and then just executing ~/bin/cogconfig.sh.  that allowed me to view the GUI, but it is painfully slow from my location - my cognos build is located in a data center in Ireland.  looks like it is back to hand-editing the file.
