Hi Gurus,
I am New to Cognos architecture and Data warehousing, I have one question regarding to Cognos Data Flow in terms from Source to Report.
Please let me know from where does Data flow and what are the settings we Do to get the Data to reports.
Basically i have some confusion on the Architecture Level.
In our Environment we have 4 Reporting Data bases and in the Cognos admin we give DSN of all the Reporting DB,s , But wonder why dont we give DSN of Data Mart, Which is also a Physical entity.
Just curious and Excuse me for Dumb Doubt.

Can u explain better the architetture ?
On Cognos admin u can map different datasource , it can be OLTP database such as MSSQL server ,DB2,Oracle but u can map CUBE from Analiys Report also .
After u map your datasource, u create a package using Cognos Framework Manager, this package is some kind of data manipulation where u can define /model your datasource as your needed , for example ,from one database u need just some kind of column from one table and another couple from another table.. .. is not simple explain in a few words.. but it can be a way to understand the environoment.

what i wanted to understand is in the OLAP reporting solution.
When the reports are fetched from Data Mart, why dont we give DSN Properties of Data mart in the Cognos Admin---> Content admin--> Data Source Informarion.
