can you use drill down/up functionalities with Recipient license in Cognos 8?
If you can not, I can't see what is actually the purpose of this role? You can publish generated reports in PDF, XLS, etc. on the private Web. It will be the same for the user.

To be able to drill up and down, a user would need a Consumer license, as the report would need to run interactively to provide these capabilities. A Recipient user would have access only to static, pre-rendered outputs. If you want to allow someone to receive pre-rendered content like this directly from your Cognos server, then they would need a Recipient license.
