Title: Cognos 8-SQL Server DB set up in Configuration Error

Hi All;
  We have our cognos application sitting on Red Hat Linux and the database ona SQL Server 2008 R2.
While trying to set up a connection to the database,I am running into the following error:

QE-DEF-0285 The logon failed.
QE-DEF-0325 The logon failed for the following reason:
RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in:
    testDataSourceConnection

UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "testDataSourceConnection" database.
UDA-SQL-0106 The function "{0}" is not supported.

I ahve never before come across the UDA-SQL-0106 error before and i am a bit rustic with the LINUX OS.Can you please help me with some insight into this.

Is this in cognos configuration or when creating a new datasource in Cognos?
Do you have the sql server client installed on your server?
