Post by: FIR1987 on 06 May 2011 01:08:32 AM
In Administration and Security Guide PDF c8.3
Chapter 4: System Performance Metrics,it provides some information about how to gather the metric data .Dose it need I install the component of Cognos 8 Metric studio.I didn't see any metric score and operational status .Each one of them score 0 ,and   color of the three are all grey.

Chapter 4 P91 Scorecard Pane
The Scorecard pane lists entries: system, servers, server groups, dispatchers, and services. For each,
it shows a metric score and operational status so that you can assess system performance (p. 92).
Each metric score is represented by a symbol:
● a green circle for good
● a yellow diamond for average
● a red square for poor

Hi,

You don't need to install any Metric Studio components but have you set the thresholds for the metrics?  This is something that you need to do manually or you can automate it using the system management methodology.

Below is a link to the system management methodology documentation which is a comprehensive approach to using the system metrics.
