Title: Using report view to link to sharepoint portal
Post by: Tsunami on 12 Dec 2011 08:29:59 AM
I was wondering if there's a way to use the 'latest report version' html and paste it into an external portal.  Linking the report view URL just re-runs the entire report.  I want the report view to run on a scheduled job, but use the latest version on a sharepoint page.

Is this possible?

Not sure on using a URL. But if you use the bundled SharePoint web parts, that is an option on the web part preferences.

Yes, it is possible. One way to do that is to activate the feature to save the report output on the file system. There are 2 settings in Configuration and then individual settings in the Report properties. After scheduling the  reports, the outputs will be saved on the file system. You can make this directory available in Sharepoint portal so the saved version will be available.
