Title: CM-SYS-5043-Content Manager failed to create an object.
Post by: SGD on 20 Dec 2011 09:42:34 PM
Hello All,

I am using Cognos 8.4.1 which is configured with its own Content Store database (Derby). Till yesterday it was running fine but suddenly it started showing below error.

QuoteCM-SYS-5043
Content Manager failed to create an object.
Table 'CMOBJECTS' cannot be locked in 'EXCLUSIVE' mode. SQLSTATE: 40L1: A lock could not be obtained within time frame.

Cognos Content Store and Content Manager Service are tested successfully in Cognos Configuration.

I have searched on net and found this similar post http://www.cognoise.com/community/index.php?topic=12929.0

I believe doing restoration of Cognos Content Store database will resolve this issue but I have no idea how can I restore it. Any Suggestions???

Hi ,

Have you tried to restart the content store? you can try that before restoring it.

I hope you have content store full back up by exporting it already.
Now to import it,

In cognos administration -> Content Administration-> new import .. in this case u may the entire backup of folders, pacakges, content store..
u can select using radio button option and complete it..

gud luck dude..

The Cognos content store is a database , technically like any other, so you need to make sure that is either part of a complete server backup or backed-up as a separate database. This will allow you to restore the DB

Having a complete content export as a .zip will not restore the DB itself. It is merely a mechanism to replace Cognos content in the existing DB tables
