Title: Reduce time for GTP
Post by: babu babu on 05 Jan 2012 05:26:12 PM
Hi,

When i ran GTP, it's taking more than 1 hr.Is there any chance to reduce the time?

Thanks,
Anand.

Add more CPU's to job cluster )

Apart from that — application redesign might help.

If you'll spill the beans about application (elist structure, per elist slice, number of cubes, links) and server (number of CPU's, memory), more detailed advice will follow.

Cheers.

I'll assume you're referring to the reconcile job that follows the GTP, Anand, and as ykud has indicated adding additional machines to the environment -should- decrease process time.

As ykud has pointed out, if you can provide the information regarding the specific application we can provide more assistance.  A few additional things:

1. What version of planning is being used?
2. What type of servers are being used? (Windows Server 2k3, 2k8, 32bit, 64bit?)
3. How many cognos servers are involved?
4. How many elist items are there?
5. If applicable, are cut downs turned on and are access tables leveraged?
