I've checked all my internet options but can't figure out what's going on.

When I use 2002 output, it produces the output in a new browser. If I use 2007, it prompts for open/save. Also, I have reports that have HTML buttons that are supposed to open a new spreadsheet filled with data. However, when I click on the button, a new IE window pops up for a couple seconds but then disappears.

Everything works fine in our citrix environment (IE 7) but when I use my local machine (IE8), I get the above results.

We are using Cognos 8.4.

Thanks for the reply. I solved our issue with our HTML buttons. I had to add the server location to my 'trusted sites' and enable 'Active X for unsigned documents'. I didn't realize that HTML buttons accessed an excel document on one of our servers.
