Title: Crosstab spaces
Post by: wyconian on 24 Feb 2012 09:18:53 AM
Afternoon Gurus

Can anyone help me out with this (please) ???

I've got a report in repot studio that has multiple crosstabs.  The report is based on a package from a cube so is dimensional.  I'm using report studio C10.

The users want to down load the report to excel so they can do further analysis so I need to get the columns in the crosstabs to line up (each crosstab has the same columns - jan to feb).  Some of the crosstabs have more nested rows than others so I've been adding crosstab spaces (some rendering fact cells) to the xtabs to get everything to line up.  Obviously that has been a bit of a struggle but it seems to have worked.

Up to now.  I've got exactly the same thing i.e. a xtab with xtab spaces nested into rows to 'pad' them out.  The data in the fact cells is not appearing on the report but they're OK if I remove the xtab spaces.

Can anyone explain what's going on, what I need to do to get around this or do you have a better way of doing this?

It's driving me mad.  Thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks

Wyconian

Thanks for the response but that's not really the issue

I've got an xtab like this

tonnes > account name > account code > acct name > measures
(with column headings jan - feb)

and another like this

Sales Price > measures (with the same column headings).

I want to make sure that the column for jan is in the same cell in the spreadsheet for each xtab so I've been padding the rows with xtab spaces to get something like this

Sales Price > xtab space > xtab space > xtab space > measures
(with the same column headings).

That has been working fine but for 2 of the xabs the measures don't appear when I add xtab spaces but the measures do appear when there are no xtab spaces.

Thanks again for your help, any other ideas?
