I am working on installs on SUSE Linux 11, and I was just wondering if I want to do an install with db2, do I need both the runtime client AND the workgroup server? running 10.1.1

If you want to use Compatible Query Mode, you will need the runtime client for DB2 on the same server as Cognos 10. If you just plan to use Dynamic Query Mode, it connects via JDBC and you will not need the runtime client.
