Title: Server Upgrade and Cognos Licence
Post by: Abhishek_Gaur on 04 Nov 2012 11:58:40 PM
Hi,
I have a query. If we have user based licences (cognos 8) and we want to upgrade our server to a higher configuration server (which will involve parallel run on both servers for a few days), does it have any impact on the Cognos licencing. Will our existing licence able to cater to this situation, or do we need to confirm with the OEM?

Regards,
Abhi

You should talk to your IBM Sales Rep for specifics of your entitlements, but in general, IBM Cognos user based licensing only restricts the number of authrozied users that can access the system, and does not restrict the number of servers in your environment where Cognos server components are installed.
