Title: Cognos configuration not able to open

Hi all,

When i open cognos 8.4 configuration i am getting only IBM cognos logo page and loading configuration msg in explorer tab i didnt get any content in explorer tab.
I restarted cognos services twice but no luck....

Please help me on this.

OS - winXP.

Hmmmm. It sounds like your cogstartup.xml may be corrupted. Try this:

In Windows Explorer navigate to <Install directory>\IBM\cognos\c10\configuration

Rename cogstartup.xml to cogstartup.old

Launch Cognos Configuration and see if you get past the splash screen.

If so, you will need to re-enter your config settings from scratch.

Thanks guys i deleted cogstartup.xml and recreated now its working fine.

Better late then never:
If you look in /configuration you will see multiple cogstartup_<timestamp>.xml files.
(at least if cognos has run before).
Rename an older file to cogstartup.xml and start configuration. That can do the trick also ...
