Hi,
I have installed Cognos 8.4 on a Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition server. The same is working perfectly fine. But I am facing a strange issue. The Cognos software is not visible on the "Add or Remove Programs" list.
This is not exactly an issue, but still can have some other impacts like Audit etc. Any suggestions please ?
One point that I need to add here, is that the installation has been done on the 'D' drive, and not the 'C' drive. Does it matter?
Hi,
That's quite normal. The approved method of uninstalling Cognos 10 is from the Start menu (Start > Programs > IBM Cognos 10 - 64 > Uninstall IBM Cognos > Uninstall IBM Cognos)
Cheers!

Thanks MFGF,
But the issue is not related to uninstallation.
Internally wanted to check the details about the installation, but was quite to surprised to see that the software itself was missing from the 'Programs & Features'. Is this a known bug? Is it happening with only Cognos 8 and Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition??
Hi,
It's not a bug. The Cognos 8/10 software is not visible in "Programs and Features". That seems to be the way IBM have made things.
If you want to see the status/details of the install process(es), you can check what's in C:\Program Files\IBM\cognos\c8\instlog
Cheers!

Thats as designed. No where does it state in the docs the product should be un installed from Windows P&F.
Proper way is mentioned above. Start .. Programs .. Cognos .. Uninstall. Aside from that Cognos does not write to the registry so as long as nothing is locking the folder down, you can just whack the folder itself if need be.
