Title: Best practise to restore data when items added to D-List
Post by: mr j on 04 Apr 2013 02:04:52 AM
Not sure what to put in the topic, but the question is if there's changes to Contributor model (items added to one D-List) what's the way to ensure that a certain couple of rows of data remain unchanged when for the new items there's going to be initial data load to the same rows?

There's D-Links for the initial data and further updates from Analyst to Contributor. Access tables will be affected when the new items are updated -> synchronization required etc.

Should I build another Analyst cube to collect new items data there from database and for the existing items in Contributor bring in the data from Production, then run a link to put it all back to Production.. or is there some fancier way?

If there was a way to select only the newly added items in the existing D-Links, but as we're looking for a solution that end users can utilize I don't think updating files for allocation tables used in D-Links is an option.
