I imported a full backup from Cognos 8 into my Cognos 10.1 enviromnment thinking this would merge the 8 data with my 10 data....apparently it does not for the reports. Is there a way to revert the import with out a backup?

Oh dear. No - sorry. It has added the data from the import into your Content Store database. You need to restore a backup from prior to the import to put things back.
