Why is the windows 64 bit download 1.25 GB compared with 2.4 GB for fix pack 1? My understanding with fix packs is the latest one has all the previous fixes and anything new.
Maybe the FP1 you look at has both versions? 32/64?
Nope they are seperate.
The size difference is because they didn't include the "Documentation" in FP2. It is a separate download. See here:

Where your BI server is installed 64 bit and FM/Transaformer 32 bit, should both fix packs be installed?
thanks
Lloyd
No, well yes, let me explain.
32bit FP install should be on 32bit tiers and...
64bit FP install should be done on 64bit tiers.
Not both on the same tier cause you shouldn't be mixing 32bit and 64bit installs.
*In fact I don't think the new installers let you mix 32 with 64bit.
The 32bit FP should also be applied to FM and Transformer installs.
*I'd have to confirm by trying, but I don't think the 32bit FP install will let you install it to a 64bit tier install. It should give an error. Like I said, I'd have to try to confirm.
Yes thats what I meant. Obviously they would be installed in seperate directories but when I have done installations in the past I have forgot to install the 32 bit fix pack for FM and Transformer.
thanks for clearing that up!

With FP1 and with IF3, there were some nice changes to Cube Designer, and you miss out on these if you forget to install the 32-bit updates.
Cheers!
MF.
I have both of them installed in different dirs
d:\cognosbi
d:\cognosbi32
And they work just fine by now in both my production and development server.
Has anyone else seen an issue where the installation of FP2 hangs? I got to component 20 of 710, and I have been there for about 45 minutes. :(
The Process issetup is not taking up any additional memory either. What is the risk in cancelling the process and starting over?
It's a miracle! Within 30 seconds of hitting "Post", it started moving again. I read somewhere else that another person had this same issue. Don't give up on your install if it hangs guys! Cheers!
If only I had a nickel for every time I've had that happen... well, instead of posting here I would be some place much warmer, perhaps sipping on a beverage and enjoying the local flora and fauna.
