Hi all,

I think a more pertinent question is whether Microsoft Azure supports Cognos? Azure looks to be a cloud platform, offering either Infrastructure as a Service or Platform as a Service choices.

If you opt for IaaS then you're in complete control of what gets installed, and as long as you use a valid OS, web server, database, security provider etc when you configure your virtual machine(s), I don't see there being many issues. The big question, of course, is how you provide the Cognos instance access to your data. If your data is on-premise and your Cognos instance is somewhere in a Microsoft data centre, how are you going to provide access to your data? Would you deploy your data into Azure too? How secure would it be?

If you opt for PaaS, you'd need to check the provisioned OS and web server that come with your Azure choice to see if they are in the Cognos Supported Environments list. Thereafter all the same issues apply as above.

Cheers!

MF.

Is there any solution on Cognos+Azure?
I guess that it should involve custom java auth provider, but there is nothing in Cognos configuration to talk to Azure.
Currently we have AD and javaauthprovider which authorizes users and want to use authorization against Azure AD...
Any help/samples appreciated.
Thanks.
