I have some users who export from Powerplay Studio to Excel only to find that the export opens in a browser window instead of Excel. I can't replicate the issue because my export opens in Excel.
User workstation is Windows 7; Cognos version is 8.4.1; browser is Internet Explorer. Has anyone run into this?
Sounds like the mime type on the user's machine is set to open the rendered file in a browser? I don't think this is anything to do with Cognos at all - just the way the user's browser handles files of specific tyoes.
