Title: Congos BI 10.2.2 Performance Steps
Post by: nzahoor on 10 Feb 2015 02:47:49 AM
Hi All,
We have just installed a new Congos BI 10.2.2 server on a RHEL 6.4 Server containing 16 cores and 128 GB on RAM.

My question is what steps do I need to perform to allocate memory to the server. We have a netezza Data source which contain TBs of data so processing on the congos will be high.

What steps do I need to perform to make sure that congos works properly and has all memory available. I know of the JVM Value in the Cogconfig.sh but Not sure how that effects the memory being used by Cognos. I have assigned it 5 GB .

As for the Content Store for Cognos, I have made it automatic and it is around 20 GB for the bufferpools created by DB2.

Overall I see that cognos is using only half of the available RAM. Do I need to be worried or am I missing any more configurations.

New to cognos and any documentation on performance optimization would be appreciated

An Addition, the server is 64 bit and the cognos installation is 64 bit as well.
