In Cognos 11, our users in consumer role in cognos security are not able to run reports. We receive 'cannot open object report' warning when tried to run the reports report. we receive 'Cannot open object interactiveReport' warning for active reports. Kindly shed some light on to resolving this.

we have the same issue with 11.0.3. Tested on two Windows and one Linux test server. Users without "report studio" capability/function can not execute reports.

I am also getting the same error when users from 'Consumers' role is trying to run the reports. Any solution?

Hi,
One thought. Are the reports in question using the new interactive report viewer? I think under the covers this is a different skin for the Authoring tool (which itself is a different skin for the old Report Studio tool). If the reports are set to non-interactive, they will use the old Cognos Viewer from Cognos 10. My assumption is that the former will require more capabilities than the latter. This shouldn't give you any licensing issues as all Consumer licenses should now have transitioned automatically to Analytics User licenses, which permits use of the Authoring tool.
