Hi all
I am new to cognos , andtherefore tried installing cognos 8 for the first time. Started cognos configuration successfully but cant connect using the web browser.
I know I have to set up a web server , but I cant find any documentation telling me how to set it up and configure it.
Can someone point me in the right direction , ie setup notes and what configuration i need to do

For the web server:
1. Create a virtual directory called "cognos8" and point it to C:\Program Files\cognos\c8\webcontent
2. Create a virtual directory called "cgi-bin" in the virtual directory you created in step 1, and point it to C:\Program Files\cognos\c8\cgi-bin. Grant execute permissions.

did that and now getting
This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

Did you enable CGI-BIN extensions?
