Title: Does Analyst 8.2 (soon 8.3) provide better model documentation tools?
Post by: bgunn on 04 Dec 2007 08:14:11 AM
Do the 8.2 and/or upcoming 8.3 releases of Analyst provide better model documentation tools beyond what is available via Analyst's 8.1 File/Library/Objects/Print output?

Are any of these features/capabilities present in the 8.2 or 8.3 versions of Analyst?

1. Object usage information that cites object usage in Manager screens
(in 8.1 there is no way to determine what objects are referenced by
what Manager screens) <--- Is anyone else frustrated by this???

2. Output on D-list item "Saved Format" details (in 8.1 all we get is
'Saved Format', without any information on which Saved Format is
actually being referenced or the actual format of the "Saved Format")

3. Output on D-list item calculation options such as none, weight
average, time average, force to zero (8.1 does not export this
   information)

Regards,
Bill

I haven't seen any changes in this area in 8.2. Actually you can observe only little changes in Analyst between 8.1 and 8.2 besides the possibility to import from Cognos Packages.

Unfortunately Analyst evolved too little since Cognos aquired Adaytum.
Only Contributor evolved significantly .

Manager still the same since version 7.1, the only additions was the flowchart option and grid. All other functions still the same.

Model documentation already still the same for a long time.  :'(
