So I am fairly new to Cognos. I dabbled some months ago and now I was asked to start again due to the previous guy leaving.
I run in to an issue right away. I was asked to add some columns to the excel output of a report with several prompts.
There is a promptpage and a regular page. In this regular page all I see is a page that displays the chosen parameters. So when I run the report and select all the parameters I want on the promptpage, it shows me the reportpage that shows my selection. If I then choose to show it in Excel, it gives me a file with a load of columns that I want to see.
I cannot for the life of me find where I can define the columns for this output. I am fully expecting to see a seperate reportpage with a list. I must be a total idiot. I am also very new at this and discovering. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
if you're expecting the actual output and not seeing it in RS (not sure if I understood that right), play around with the condition explorer. Possibly, the content is only shown for certain conditions.

I was looking there and I found 1 "var_selectie" which is a string variable. It contains 2 values. Those values do NOT tell me where it collects it's data.
If I change my view of the reportpage explorer to page structure, I can see those values and when I expand them further, I find the columns I am looking for. But I cannot add to these. I am making no sense am I?
I also found the query that matches the columns I found. I added 2 columns to the query but it doesn't add these to the structure I see in the reportpage.
