Title: Passing in Multi Criteria When running Report
Post by: damienm on 07 Dec 2007 08:48:54 PM
Hi,
I am a newbie here and have just started using Cognos 8,  my question is, I work for a company that has multi brands, I have setup a standard retail report but how do I design this to run multi brands automatically, i.e click report and it will run individual brand reports, can this be done? Ideally I would like to schedule the report and have it run multi times but with filtered by a single brand. Any help much appreciated!

I'd say Bursting might be a good way to do what you describe. This would be one report that creates multiple outputs, for each different brand.  Group the report on Brand, enable bursting (File menu, burst options), set up the burst and go!

You could also setup yor filter scheme to allow the report to execute for brands, or selected brands.  Then schedule the report to run as you desire, with the scheduled job having desired brands.
