Post by: whitestone on 03 Jan 2008 03:48:09 AM
Is there a way to run EP 8.2/8.3 job servers under XP or Linux?

I tried turning an XP Pro SP2 workstation with IIS installed into a temporary job server without success. I've had no problem setting up Windows 2003 Server based job servers. I wonder if there are XP specific installation instructions? Thanks for your help (again) Tish!

What's the errors?

Are you adding XP into a cluster that has Win2003?  XP is IIS5, Window2003 is IIS6, not sure if those would work together if that is what you are trying.  I do know that you can have issues even across Win2K3 versus Win2K3 SP1 (seen that before, long time ago).

Yes! All our job servers are Windows 2003 Server (not sure of the SP). I was trying to add a XP job server to this mix. I don't have a list of errors in front of me, but it sounds like your concern about job servers in a mixed IIS environment may apply to my situation. I'm fine continuing to use Windows 2003 Server. Thank you for your help.

I never tried a mixed IIS installation. But a stand alone XP installation is no problem.
