In Cognos 11, it is possible to create a custom URL to run a report and select the desired format. One of the available format options is singleXLS The list of possible formats and the syntax for creating the custom URL can be found here (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEP7J_11.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.wig_cr.doc/c_wig_cr_create_custom_url.html). This format works for what I am trying to do. However, I would like to use this same format in a scheduled, burst report. When scheduling a report in Cognos 11, this format is not available as an option in the Create schedule menu, nor is this format available as an option from the Run As menu when running the report interactively. Is it possible to add this format as an option under the Create schedule menu?
I don't think singleXLS is a format IBM want you to use in Cognos 11.
It seems to be just a hangover from previous versions.
The suggested formats are Excel and Excel Data.
If you do find a way to force it through you might find it doesn't work in future patches.
To look at it a different way, why doesn't "Run Excel" give you what you want?
