Title: Navigation Path issue
Post by: NewGuy1983 on 05 Dec 2019 11:07:03 AM
Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to use a different data item based on the heirachry level? Is this doable in a report?

My calculations are created by SQL and I just need to show the different data items based on what the user is drilling down/up to.

Using cognos 11.0.12

Can you clarify what you mean by "use a different show a different data item based on the heirachry level" please.

Do you mean substitute a query item for another query item when it is chosen in the navigation path?  If so, no you can't do it.   Why you would want to do it is not clear.

Knowing a bit more about the requirement could help point you towards a possible solution.

Yes

I have a sql table that has multiple users data shown by year, quarter and month. Also in the same table I have the overall (each users data aggregated) by year, quarter and month.

So at each level of my navigation path I need to use the logged in user values to be compared to the overall totals for each level.

Year- should be the users year value / the overall year value. Quarter should be the users quarter value / the overall quarter value.
